Roxybot is a celebrity body guard turned 80’s rock star robot. She is sassy, opinionated, ambitious, and a little out there. She is working on her first album which is a blend of electropunk and folktronica.
Roxybot is also a plush doll created by Stuffed Robot in 2005. Stuffed Robot is a company of sorts formed by three people, Jessie Vogel, Patrick Moberg, and me, Bill Brown. We make a lot of things, but we mainly work on plush robots. Even though we first started doing this in 2005, this year (2009) we decided to take a different route and re-launch each of our toys for a final last hurrah. We re-launched 100 Mellowtrons in early Febuary, and we are now working on our next design, Roxybot. This tumblr is a place for anyone to see how we go from design, to production, to the website with the stuff we make, in this case Roxybot the punk rock robot.
First things first then, designing. Even though we do have a Roxybot design, we need to reevaluate it, and make sure this is how we want her to look for her final debut. Roxybot has gone through a couple of different looks since 2005 (she changes her mind quite often), so maybe the place to start is to take a look at those designs and go from there.
